  36.     I really don't understand this fascination w/using the PAR 
  37. board as an edit source.  It's cheaper than a second deck+TBC, I'll give 
  38. it that, but my understanding is:

  40.   A) it doesn't support time code, 
  41.   B) does not  support audio (don't flame me w/vapor on the SunRize board),
  42.   C) doesn't have a GPI trigger or anything analogous, and 
  43.   D) no matter how great the image is, if you're playing live captured
  44.      video through it you've already lost a generation in the transfer
  45.      into the PAR, and will probably lose considerably 
  46.      (or perceptibly) more with the compression.

  48.      Considering these drawbacks, why would this be a great thing?

  50.     I consider this idea another manifestation of "the Amigan 
  51. Disease", living constantly in a future world of perfected hard/soft-
  52. ware, being applied to purposes for which the items in question were
  53. never designed.

  55.     Using the PAR board as an edit source does have some merit if
  56. it is limited to its apparent design purpose- playing animations.  To
  57. do this effectively it still needs some method of triggering.  The
  58. Toaster can be triggered with a GPI on the 2nd mouse port, perhaps
  59. something similar can be arranged for the PAR.
